Wednesday, October 22 - Fundraiser for LPIE

On Wednesday, October 22 from 2-5pm, the Brrristas at Smitten Ice Cream Lafayette will be serving up scoops to support Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE). Tickets are $5 for unlimited scoops, and all profits go directly to LPIE. Come enjoy all the scoops your stomach can handle! (Just make sure to bring your elastic-waist pants...) 

 

Friday, October 24 - Trick or Treat Street 

We are asking you to help us create a fun and safe event for the children. Parents will bring the kids around from business to business. Think about staying open till 6:00pm. If you would like to participate, please put the "Trick or Treat Street" poster on your door on Friday, October 24. Let us know you are in by emailing sara@lafayettechamber.org by October 21, so we can include you on the map/list.

This event is in the center of town and includes Mt. Diablo Blvd. from Dewing to 1st Street and Lafayette Circle. Have some candy or treats for the kids. This is sure way to get some new customers trough your door. Last year we had several hundred kids participating.

Friday, October 24 - Coffee with the Mayor

Join community and chamber members this Friday, October 24 morning as we have our final "Coffee with Mayor" Tatzin this year. Agenda items will include:
* Parking Committee's workshop review of Core Downtown parking concerns
* New City Ordinance allowing private property owners to write (invoices/citations)
* SB 270 - "Single Use" plastic bags ban and Lafayette's plans for an alternative initiative
* Potential Fee Surcharge for use of Public Right-of-Way during construction and development in the downtown
We meet in the Chamber conference room at 8:00am. Continental Breakfast and coffee served. Open to everyone.


 

Health Fair - Sunday, October 26

Our annual Health Fair - supporting the Healthy Lifestyles of Lamorinda Residents will be held at this year's Lafayette Reservoir Run on Sunday, October 26.

Sunday, October 26 - Reservoir Run - Register Online 

Online Registration for the 22nd annual Reservoir Run held on Sunday, October 26. This year's t-shirt is based on the artwork of student Julien O'Donnell. Remember this event benefits Lafayette Schools. For more information visit our website. New this year - Kid Zone and Bike Rodeo. Chamber Office Closed on Monday, October 27

The Chamber Office will be closed on Monday, October 27 for Reservoir Run clean-up.  We will reopen on Tuesday, October 28 at 9:00am.
Tuesday, October 28 - Green Committee Meeting - noon

Green LogoGovernor Brown has signed SB270 into law, effective July 1, 2015.  Single use Plastic Bags will be banned in California.  Come to our Green Committee meeting on Tuesday, October 28 at noon and find out about Lafayette's plans to adopt their own ordinance.  If you want to learn how to make your business "greener" you should join us.  We meet in the chamber conference room.  If you are driving, please park on the street.
