September 25 - October 7 - Lafayette Art Gallery's exhibit "Celebrating 15 Years in Lafayette: Then and Now"

The Lafayette Art Gallery's new exhibit starting September 9 is "Celebrating 15 Years in Lafayette: Then and Now". The exhibit is highlighting work of the five original founders from when the Gallery was started, as well as their work today. The founders are Susan Erickson, Jill Landau, Margaret Lucas-Hill, Judy Miller and Pat Prosek. Lafayette Art Gallery celebrates their 15th Anniversary with a reception on Friday, September 12 from 5:30-7:30pm. The Art Gallery is located at 3420 Mt. Lafayette's Town Hall Theatre presents Company (Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by George Furth) from September 13 - October. Winner of seven Tony Awards and seven Drama Desk Awards, "Company" focuses on Robert, a confirmed bachelor celebrating his 35th birthday, surrounded by friends showing him the pros (and cons) of married life. September 26 - October 11 - Malcolm Cowler's stage adaption of Bram Stoker's Dracula

The Orinda Starlight Village Players present Malcolm Cowler's stage adaption of Bram Stoker's Dracula from September 19th thru October 11th. Shows are Fridays, 8:30 p.m.;Saturdays, 8:30 p.m. This show retells the story of the vampire Dracula's attempt to move from Transylvania to England and the battles that ensue between a band of heroes led by Van Helsing and the monster. Cal Shakes presents The Great Tragedies - Mke Daisey Takes on Shakespeare. Romeo - Hamlet - Macbeth - Lear. The Lafayette Juniors is holding their 21st Annual Rummage Sale on Saturday, October 4th, 8 am - 2 pm. Special early bird entrance fee $3 per adult from 7 am - 8 am. The event is held at Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church, 49 Knox Drive in Lafayette. Pre-loved designer clothes, baby and kid clothes, toys, and gear, furniture, household goods, and much more. For a fun, safe Halloween event, children and their parents are invited to Trick-or-Treat on Mt. Diablo Blvd. from Oak Hill Rd. to Dewing Ave. and in La Fiesta Square from 4:00-6:00pm on Friday, October 24. All participating businesses will display a "Trick-or-Treat Poster" and balloons. Sustainable Lafayette is holding its first-ever fundraiser at Metro Lafayette Sunday, October 26th from 2-5pm. October 26 - 22nd Annual Lafayette Reservoir Run
|
|
The Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lafayette are co-sponsors of the 22nd Annual Lafayette Reservoir Run on Sunday, October 26. Beneficiaries of the event are the local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber. The Lafayette Reservoir Run is the city's most popular "family affair", involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. 2200-2500 participants compete in a 10k or 5k Certified Runs and a 2 mile run/walk for fun through the heart of the downtown, around the reservoir and back. Sprinters, walkers, the "stroller brigade" and many of Lafayette's top four legged residents share the streets on that festive Sunday morning. Online registration.
