September 25 - October 7 - Lafayette Art Gallery's exhibit "Celebrating 15 Years in Lafayette: Then and Now"

 The Lafayette Art Gallery's new exhibit starting September 9 is "Celebrating 15 Years in Lafayette: Then and Now". The exhibit is highlighting work of the five original founders from when the Gallery was started, as well as their work today. The founders are Susan Erickson, Jill Landau, Margaret Lucas-Hill, Judy Miller and Pat Prosek. Lafayette Art Gallery celebrates their 15th Anniversary with a reception on Friday, September 12 from 5:30-7:30pm. The Art Gallery is located at 3420 Mt. September 25 - October 11 - Town Hall Theatre presents Company

Lafayette's Town Hall Theatre presents Company (Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by George Furth) from September 13 - October. Winner of seven Tony Awards and seven Drama Desk Awards, "Company" focuses on Robert, a confirmed bachelor celebrating his 35th birthday, surrounded by friends showing him the pros (and cons) of married life. With such songs as "Barcelona", "Side By Side By Side" and "Marry Me A Little", this trailblazing musical is the first taste of our upcoming season. Previews September 11 & 12. September 26 - October 11 - Malcolm Cowler's stage adaption of Bram Stoker's Dracula

The Orinda Starlight Village Players present Malcolm Cowler's stage adaption of Bram Stoker's Dracula from September 19th thru October 11th. Shows are Fridays, 8:30 p.m.;Saturdays, 8:30 p.m. This show retells the story of the vampire Dracula's attempt to move from Transylvania to England and the battles that ensue between a band of heroes led by Van Helsing and the monster. At the Outdoor Theater, Orinda Community Center Park, 28 Orinda Way - be aware that this is an outdoor theatre and dress appropriately/bring blankets.Bring a picnic and enjoy the show! October 2 - 12 - Cal Shakes presents The Great Tragedies

 Cal Shakes presents The Great Tragedies - Mke Daisey Takes on Shakespeare. Romeo - Hamlet - Macbeth - Lear. Over four consecutive nights at the Bruns, renowned storyteller Mike Daisey wrestles with these tragic heroes and unravels what Shakespeare means to theater today-in a special show created just for Cal Shakes. October 4 - Lafayette Juniors 21st Annual Rummage Sale

The Lafayette Juniors is holding their 21st Annual Rummage Sale on  Saturday, October 4th, 8 am - 2 pm. Special early bird entrance fee $3 per adult from 7 am - 8 am. The event is held at Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church, 49 Knox Drive in Lafayette. Pre-loved designer clothes, baby and kid clothes, toys, and gear, furniture, household goods, and much more. October 4 - CASA of Contra Costa County's 33rd Annual Evening of Promise
CASA of Contra Costa County is holding their fundraiser - 33rd Annual Evening of Promise on Saturday, October 4 from 6pm-10pm at The Clubhouse at Boundary Oak, 3800 Valley Vista Road, Walnut Creek. The Master of Ceremonies is Dan Ashley, ABC Channel 7 News Anchor. Tickets are$150 per person and there is a special CASA volunteer rate available!

October 6 - Lafayette Rotary Golf Classic
Have you ever had the privledge of playing golf with Ed Stokes? Do you wonder why Larry Blodgett always has his son Spencer playing in his foursome? Ever seen Bill Eames tee it up on the fairway? Really! October 6 - Rossmoor Art & Wine 2014 benefiting Hospice of the East Bay

Rossmoor Art & Wine 2014 - Monday, October 6, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Wine Tastings & Local Artist Exhibits at the Rossmoor Event Center: $30 general admission; $80 VIP admission. October 18 - Concert at Cal Shakes Bruns Amphitheatre

October 19 - 3rd Annual Open House & Harvest Festival

The Lafayette Community Garden & Outdoor Learning Center hopes you will join us for our annual Open House and Harvest Celebration on Sunday October 19 from 11 to 3 pm. Garden members will be providing delicious snacks and drinks. Come build a scarecrow, make fragrant sachets and cooking herb packets, listen to local musicians, visit with Doc Hale and see his amazing mountain lion photos, take a tour of the garden and much more! October 24 - Trick or Treat Street

For a fun, safe Halloween event, children and their parents are invited to Trick-or-Treat on Mt. Diablo Blvd. from Oak Hill Rd. to Dewing Ave. and in La Fiesta Square from 4:00-6:00pm on Friday, October 24. All participating businesses will display a "Trick-or-Treat Poster" and balloons. Please come in costume to receive a special treat. Don't forget to bring a Trick-or-Treat bag.

October 25 - Art of Mixology

The Orinda Arts Council is holding its first annual Art of Mixology, Craft Cocktail Competition from 4:30pm-7pm at Orinda Theatre Square. October 25 - Gold Coast Chamber Players - Brahms to Brazil

Gold Coast Chamber Players present 'Brahms to Brazil' on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30pm (Pre-concert talk at 7pm) at the Community Hall of the Lafayette Library & Learning Center. October 26 - Sustainable Lafayette Fundraiser

Sustainable Lafayette is holding its first-ever fundraiser at Metro Lafayette Sunday, October 26th from 2-5pm. This delicious and informative evening features: Organic/sustainably-produced local foods - Dine on seasonal hors d'oeuvres prepared by Metro's award-winning chef;
ZD organic wines and local beer - Sample these delicious beverages and learn from the winery owner how the wines were made; Inspiring speakers - Our founder, Steve Richard, will share a vision for how a "Sustainable Lafayette" can become the greatest place we've ever lived. A handful of creative thinkers will give short TED-style talks covering different elements that define a sustainable community. October 26 - 22nd Annual Lafayette Reservoir Run

The Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lafayette are co-sponsors of the 22nd Annual Lafayette Reservoir Run on  Sunday, October 26. Beneficiaries of the event are the local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber. The Lafayette Reservoir Run is the city's most popular "family affair", involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. 2200-2500 participants compete in a 10k or 5k Certified Runs and a 2 mile run/walk for fun through the heart of the downtown, around the reservoir and back. Sprinters, walkers, the "stroller brigade" and many of Lafayette's top four legged residents share the streets on that festive Sunday morning. Online registration.
