Remember NO Entrepreneurs Club, Green Committee or Business Forum meetings in August | |
The Chamber is taking a vacation from the Entrepreneurs Club, Green Committee and Business Forum meetings in August so that we can get a head start on our 19th annual Art & Wine Festival. All of these meetings will resume in September. See the "Upcoming Chamber Events" below for specific dates and times. We hope you all are enjoying your summer!

Volunteer for Art & Wine Festival Online! | | We can't do the Art & Wine Festival without you. New this year is online volunteer sign-up. The Lafayette Art & Wine Festival is Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21. Just fill out the volunteer sign-up form and e-mail, fax or mail it to us OR sign-up online at bit.ly/festivalvolunteer2014. |
Still Time to Run for the Chamber Board of Directors! | |
Petitions to run for the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are now available. The petition must be signed by five current Chamber members and returned to the chamber office by September 15. The term of office for the new Directors will be January, 2015 through December, 2016. Voting will take place between October 1-20. Ballots will be mailed to all Chamber members.
The Chamber Board is the policy making arm of the Chamber and has final authority in all decisions affecting the organization. Our 2015 Chamber President-Elect is Debbie Cooper, Mechanics Bank. Board members are required to attend, the annual Planning retreat on November 8 and monthly Board meetings. In addition, they are expected to actively serve on at least one Chamber committee. August 21 - Eugene O'Neill Festival: A Sneak Peek - 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM - Community Hall. Eric Fraisher Hayes, VP of Artistic Programming, will visit to discuss the The 15th Annual Eugene O'Neill Festival. Held in September, the festival promises to be a blockbuster, with a schedule that includes the production of timeless works by two of America's greatest playwrights Eugene O'Neill and Tennessee Williams -- The Iceman Cometh and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. "The Art of the Escape" is the Festival theme and the two chosen plays will reflect this most heartily. For more information click here.
August 23 - "Tail End" of Summer - Hop on over to the Lafayette Library! It's the "Tail End" of summer! Today is the last day to Hop on over to pick up your Summer Reading Prizes!
