Dear Parents:
Our art program began six years ago, when Mrs. Jaroslawicz joined us and made art come to life for the boys here at RMS. Mrs. J's incredible program gives the boys with an outlet to explore their artistic side and bring out their creative talents. During their recess break boys can join the Clay With J program which provides an opportunity to create, design and paint their own unique work of art. Mrs. J also runs a workshop on Fridays giving our boys a chance to make the walls speak, by painting murals and signs for the walls that reflect the messages of leadership and kindness. Due to the construction, we had to say farewell to the amazing Art room that Mrs. J created with her son. Have no fear, the art room has been relocated and art still lives on here at Rohr.
Mrs. Steinberger has made being healthy an art form in her Health Nut workshop. One of the most popular workshops, Mrs. Steinberger takes healthy eating ideas and concepts and gives boys a chance to taste and make different recipes to add to their Shabbos or week. The boys have made fruit smoothies, chummus and dips, challah, sushi and more. Last Friday, they were joined by Mrs. Maya, who taught the boys how do decorate with fruit and make beautiful incr"edible" centerpieces.
Last Friday's, Project Greatness gave the 6th grade a chance to practice synergy. Working together, each group made personal connections to one of the concepts learned in earlier sessions by illustrating its meaning and practical application. The boys creatively demonstrated the themes of "Greatness", "Simcha", "Seder", and "Think Win-Win" with pictures and using "leadership language" such as "Carry your Own Weather" and "Big Rocks".
Have a great Shabbos!
