Dear Parents:
Learning Halacha in the 6th grade comes in handy. With Rabbi Kaganoff's hands-on approach to learning, every student experiences the lamed-tes melachos personally. This week, Rabbi Kaganoff, worked with both Rabbi Anton and Rabbi Mandel's classes. They learned the Melacha of dush--threshing, using wheat stalks. In addition, they made their own grape juice and wine as they learned about the Melacha of borer -sorting.
Mr. Scott's eighth grade civic's class has been working hard preparing for the upcoming election debates. The debates will be held in school on November 5th. Stay tuned for a full report about the debates in two weeks. RMS Students have predicted the Presidential winner in two consecutive presidential elections.
Congratulations to Mr. Cohen and Mrs. Ruck's sixth grade reading classes on mastering thirty new vocabulary words. In celebration of this milestone both classes participated in a Celebration of Education this Thursday. The boys presented stories using all thirty words. The highlight of the event was the vocabulary bee; many of the boys made it to the second or third round. Congratulations to the winners.
Third place:
Alex Bugay, Jacob Benchetrit and Yosef Steinberg
Second place: Eli Mizrahi

We look forward to our next celebration which will include the next thirty words.
