Spring Weather for Market!

Spring (well almost Summer) weather is here and we hope you will make a trip to the market for some spring veggies, and lots of other goodies! Your farmers and bakers will be there with smiles on their faces as we all enjoy the warmth.

We have some very exciting news!  This year, we will start the main market season a month early on  April 2nd!  We'll have musicians, places to sit and children's activities and the market will be from 9am to 1pm!

Our farmers and bakers are bringing lots of great food- be sure to take a look at this newsletter so you don't miss any goodies.

This Week at Market
Artisan's Cafe
A variety of 6 oz. bags of One Village Coffee.  This is an opportunity to try a new blend like the  Seasonal Blend, "Nor'easter", medium roast level, Full bodied, sweet and complex with chocolate and a hit of citrus, long aftertaste or our dark roast, French.

will be at the Phoenixville farmers market Saturday March 12 from 10:00-12:00 with a nice selection of Bison burgers, steaks, roasts, ribs, bacon, sausages, hot dogs, jerky and snack sticks.

 
Birchrun Hills Farm
Blue Cheese + Bacon + Honey!
Many of my recipes come from Harvest to Heat - it is a visually beautiful cookbook that pulls together Chefs, Farmers and Artisans from around the country! It shares stories and recipes and is where I look often for some kitchen inspiration. The page with the Blue Cheese Tartine [lovely word] must have a crease in it because I seem to flip to it every time. So, thought I would share this easy to make recipe with you. I can eat this for brunch, serve it as an appetizer or for dinner with a great salad. And even better all of the ingredients are available at the farmers market! Enjoy!

Get the recipe here, but be sure to use Birchrun Blue instead of Jasper Hill which is in Vermont!

Wild For Salmon
  Wild For Salmon will have all of your salmon favorites including fillet, smoked salmon, smoked ravioli, spreads, burgers, and sampling our Hickory Smoked Salmon! We will also be fully stocked on wild-caught goodies such as Sea Scallops, Halibut, Pacific Cod, and Black Cod! Bulk, whitefish and shellfish pre orders must be in by noon Friday!
