First Full Market of 2016!
Saturday
April 2, 2016
9am to 1pm
Hello Market Shoppers!
The Phoenixville Farmers' Market returns
to longer hours this Saturday!
We hope you will join us tomorrow as we celebrate the
start of our 15th season!  We held our very first market at Bridge and Main Streets way back in 2002 with only 4 vendors. What a difference 15 years make!

We are very excited to return to longer hours with music and the children's area this week.  Joe Willson will start of the music season off as he wows us with his incredible fingerstyle guitar on stage from 10 to 1.  You'll find some new toys and cushions in the children's area along with the old favorites. We're also adding cafe seating near the food trucks.

Tomorrow you'll find the market stocked with lots and lots of your market favorites along with some new ones.  Take a look at the list below to see who is coming and what they are bringing.

It's still early in the growing season, so you won't find heat loving vegetables and fruits YET... but they will come later in the season! In the meantime, enjoy those springs greens while you can.

See you at the Market!

SPECIAL GUEST:  Happy Tails Rescue
New to the market this season will be the Happy Tails Rescue Showcase!  The Rescue Showcase will invite different animal rescue groups to showcase their adoptable animals on the first Saturday each month throughout the regular market season.  The showcase was created so animal shelters and animal rescue groups can set up at the Phoenixville Farmers' Market, feature adoptable pets, and spread the word about their organizations and the work they each do.
THIS WEEK'S RESCUES

Pennsylvanis SPCA

The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting animals, preventing cruelty, and improving the health and quality of life for animals in Pennsylvania. We are the largest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, and the largest No-Kill shelter in Philadelphia. We are excited to participate in this years Rescue Showcase. We look forward to engaging community members around our programs and services, and introducing some of our adoptable shelter residents to potential adopters.

DogsHome
DogsHome is a new and unique nonprofit rescue. What sets us apart from other rescues and shelters is that when you adopt from us, you get a dog who's already trained in the basic skills, and we give you our support throughout the dog's lifetime. Two weeks, two months, two years down the road ... if there's a problem, we're there to help.

Also, we're tackling the problem of homelessness from both sides: Not only do we rescue dogs from shelters, but we work to prevent them from being left at shelters in the first place, by going into homes and offering training and management strategies and, if necessary, rehoming the dog.

At DogsHome, we don't care about breed. We don't care about age. We don't care about color or size or physical condition. We go where we're needed.

And though I am surprised and fascinated that we have days and months celebrating things like in this case the grilled cheese sandwich it is also a good reminder to expand our culinary repertoire, have some more fun in the kitchen, and learn a few things along the way. Like, grilled cheese sandwiches came about in the US during the 1920's, not by coincidence when sliced bread was more affordably available because of the development of an affordable bread slicer. And they were first called a melted cheese or toasted cheese only using one slice of bread.
