Hello Market Shoppers!

Happy Halloween!

We are so happy that Halloween falls on a market day this year!  In celebration, we will be giving honey sticks to all children who come in costume and dog treats to our canine friends in dress up .  Stop by the market table for your treat!  We have great food this week and a fantastic band called The Yonders on stage.

As we hope you know, the market continues weekly operation all the way until Christmas.  We shorten our hours after Thanksgiving but we will still be here! 

Thanksgiving seems like the perfect farmers' market holiday- a time to celebrate the harvest that our farmers work so hard to bring us.  We are having a FREE raffle for a farmers' market Thanksgiving basket that will have a turkey plus the ingredients you need for a Thanksgiving meal.  You can enter the raffle one time each week for the next 3 weeks.  Stop by the market table to enter.  We will draw the winner on November 14th, and the winner can pick the basket up on the 21st.

As the weather gets cooler, we all reach for those winter coats to bundle up for the market.  Sadly, not all members of our community have jackets to keep themselves warm.  Jenny & Franks Gelato is collecting new and gently used coats plus new scarves, mittens, hats and gloves in support of the non-profit, Feel The Warmth.  If you have something to donate, just bring it to their booth. They are accepting donations every Saturday until November 21st.  You can get more details here.

We know that parking can get tight in the municipal lot nearest the market and want you to know that there is free parking in the Borough Hall lot at 351 Bridge Street on the side furthest from the market.  It is  very pleasant to walk the short section along the trail to the market from the lot!  There is also 2 hour parking along Main Street, Mill Street and Bridge Street so be sure to check those options out too!

The fall colors are beautiful and the fall temperatures are just right for hot soups and their perfect accompaniment, the grilled cheese sandwich!  Experiment with one or a combination of our cheeses - and be sure to tell us about your favorite combinations!

Black Walnut WInery
Our Think Pink, Drink Pink promotion continues through the end of October. Purchase a bottle of either of Black Walnut's blush wines, Sassy or Iridescence, and we'll donate $1 to Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC).
We'll have both of them with us at the market this week for shoppers to sample. They make a wonderful hostess gift, or a great way to treat yourself.

Country Time Farm
we will be taking orders for Christmas hams, whole or half, also we will have our Canadian  bacon, fresh pork belly, and more.  Come out early for a better selection.

Deep Roots Valley Farm
Stewing hens will be available this weekend! Get them while you can! They are packed 2 in a bag and are $3/lb.
Stewing hens are the absolute best for making stocks, soups, pot pies, and chicken and dumplings. They are heritage breed Barred Rocks. These chickens do not have as much meat on them, but the depth of flavor is amazing!

Flour Fairies
 The Flour Fairies will have Devil's Food Chocolate Doughnuts and spooky cut-out cookies to get you in the Halloween mood! Other treats this week include Vanilla Bean Scones, Bacon, Cheddar,  & Chive Scones, and Apple Cheddar Rosemary Scones. We will also have our popular apple cider doughnuts and Welsh Cookies.

Forks Farm
will be taking orders for our organically-fed, pasture raised, processed on farm TURKEYS. Price is $4.15/lb Thanksgiving Turkeys will be delivered to the Phoenixville Market on 11/21. Pre-orders only. Email: forksfarm@gmail.com
