Fiber Festival, Great Music, Great Food, Great Artists this week!

Fiber Festival
!
  October 10, 2015
9am to 1pm
Hello Market Shoppers!

It's the Second Saturday this week and that means local artists will be at the market this week!  It's also our annual Fiber Festival and there will be lots of hand made woolen items and yarn at the market just in time for the cooler weather.  If you've never tried knitting, it is super easy.  Just ask artists for a quick lesson. You'll be hooked!

Maple syrup is a perfect accompaniment to fall apples, sweet potatoes and winter squash, and this is the week that Ridge Valley Farm will be at market with the sweet elixir made in neighboring Montgomery County.  Be sure to grab some!

The  Raven Hill Ramblers will play their old time bluegrass music on stage from 10am to 1pm.  Be sure to grab a seat and listen!

Parking can get tight at the market, but we have a great FREE option that includes a lovely short walk along the French Creek Trail.  On Saturday mornings, the lot on the far side of the borough hall is open to the public for free.  A few spots are designated for borough vehicles only-just take a look at the signs.  And if you have an electric vehicle,  there's even a charging station.

See you at the Market!

Cauliflower Gratin with aged Raw Milk Cheese

Ingredients

Kosher Salt
2 small heads of cauliflower
2 large farm eggs
1 cup heavy cream
freshly grated nutmeg
11/2 cups grated Equinox

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 450. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

2. Cut the cauliflower into large florets. Cook the florets in the boiling water for about 3 minutes until just tender but still firm in the center. Drain. Arrange the cauliflower in a 9 x 13 baking dish.

3. In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, a little salt, and nutmeg to taste. Pour over the warm cauliflower.

4. Bake for 30 - 40 minutes until the gratin is barely set in the center.

5. Remove from the oven and turn on the broiler.
