Hello Market Shoppers!
The weather will be absolutely gorgeous for tomorrow's market and we hope you will join us for a special cooking demo by  chef/owner of Majolica, Andrew Deery  on our stage at 9am.  You'll learn some new ways to use farmers' market ingredients AND, if you pre-register
here, you'll be entered in a free raffle to win a $50 Majolica gift certificate.

This is the week when we focus on health Phoenixville Hospital will be doing free blood pressure screenings.  Stop by to get yours tested!

We know that parking can get tight in the municipal lot nearest the market and want you to know that there is free parking in the Borough Hall lot at 351 Bridge Street on the side furthest from the market.  It is  very pleasant to walk the short section along the trail to the market from the lot!

A few shoppers have asked whether we will be open next week during the Pope's visit and the answer is "YES!"  But don't let that stop you from coming this week, too!

There seems to be a day or month for everything which is a good reminder for us to appreciate those things that may have drifted from our consciousness - - so it turns out that September is National Honey Month! Well, I have been appreciating bees all summer, watching them land and take a big drink and flit and land again knowing that somewhere my next jar of honey is being made!
I will, however, take this reminder to pull out my current jar of local honey and pair it with my blue cheese and to make a honey, mustard and lemon sauce for my grilled veal chops!
Hope you will be inspired to get out your honey too!

Flour Fairies
New this week, we are bringing Petite Apple Butter Cakes (featuring the vintage apple variety "Adams' Pearmain" from North Star Orchard) and gluten-free, dairy-free "Morning Glory" Muffins (chock-full of organic carrots, North Star apples, and shredded coconut) to market.  We will also have sweet and savory scones and a variety of Welsh Cookies.  In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and our littlest Flour Fairy, Maeve the Brave, we are donating a portion of our sales to The Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at  The Nemours/A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE.

Farmers will be at market with our 100% grass-fed beef and pastured eggs. It's time to start thinking about ordering your holiday turkey! We will be taking orders on Saturday.

Thanks to all of you for continuing to make our Philabundance "Pints for Papa" campaign a terrific success - currently at 314 pints, which means 628 meals!   Let's keep it going this week with Almond and Banana Nutella gelati, as well as Chocolate Supreme, Rustic Lemon, and Sea Salt Caramel.  It's the final week for Simply Cantaloupe Sorbetto, so stock up while you can.

In celebration of Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia, for the entire month of September, we will donate  $1 to Philabundance for every pint of gelato and sorbetto sold. Please help us feed the hungry. Viva il Papa!

We'll have all of your fall favorites this weekend! Leeks, arugula, Chinese cabbage, butternut squash, Hosui Asian pears, and apples are in abundance! We'll still have some grapes, although this weekend may be the last of them, so don't miss out. There will be some other veggies as well.
