Hello Market Shoppers!

It's Second Saturday this week and that means local artists will be at the market this week!  

 

Maple syrup is a perfect accompaniment to fall apples, sweet potatoes and winter squash, and this is the week that Ridge Valley Farm will be at market with the sweet elixir made in neighboring Montgomery County.  Be sure to grab some!   

 

The Hytha Family will be on stage from 10am to 1pm.  Listening  to these talented Phoenixville locals will be sure to bring a smile to your face!  

 

We may have a few showers tomorrow, but it looks like they may hold off until after the market.   Rain or shine, we will be here, and you can stay dry under the bridge! 

 

Parking can get tight at the market, but we have a great FREE option that includes a lovely short walk along the French Creek Trail.  On Saturday mornings, the lot on the far side of the borough hall is open to the public for free.  A few spots are designated for borough vehicles only-just take a look at the signs.  And if you have an electric vehicle,  there's even a charging station.

It's almost fall, y'all!  The Flour Fairies have an exciting menu available at market this week! Our sweet and savory offerings embrace the last flavors of summer while welcoming the cozy tastes of early autumn.  Also, September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.  This month we will donate a portion of our sales to The Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Nemours/A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children, Wilmington, DE-in honor of our littlest Flour Fairy and Pediatric Cancer Survivor, Maeve the Brave!

Thanks to all of you for making our 1st week of our Philabundance "Pints for Papa" campaign a terrific start - nearly 200 pints!  Let's keep it going this week with the return of Almond Gelato - fresh, nutty and wonderfully smooth.  The summer Cantaloupes (from Hoagland Farm) are back in Sorbetto, and we'll be featuring Banana Nutella, Chocolate Supreme, Rustic Lemon, and Sea Salt Caramel.

As mentioned, in celebration of Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia, our "Pints for Papa" program continues - for the entire month of September, we will donate  $1 to Philabundance for every pint of gelato and sorbetto sold. Please help us feed the hungry. Viva il Papa!

A big hurray for Hosui Asian pears and grapes, and the beginning of high apple season! In addition to these awesome fruits, we'll also have plenty of broccoli, beets, lettuce, and Penn State Pride Potatoes (yep -  blue & white). Plan to visit our farm on one of three apple tasting Saturdays this fall: see where all this great produce comes from and sample more than 40 kinds of apples on each event day!
