Hello Market Shoppers!

It's Second Saturday this week and local artists will join us with handcrafted items ranging from beautiful wooden bowls and pottery tableware to hand spun yarn, bird feeders, bird houses, and one of a kind jewelry.

Of course our farmers and food artisans will be here with just picked apples, fresh cider, root vegetables, greens, fresh loaves of beautiful bread and much much more!

Please remember that our market continues on a weekly basis through Christmas!  After Thanksgiving, our hours will be 10am to noon, but we will be here for you!  We are very grateful that so many of you make a conscious decision to support our wonderful farmers and artisans.  As a thank you, we are having a customer appreciation day tomorrow.  Several of our vendors will have specials, and we will have a free raffle to win a farmers' market bag with market dollars and vouchers from vendors.  Please stop by the market information table by the stage to enter.

The Hytha Family will rock our stage staring at 10am, so be sure to grab a chair and enjoy the show!

See you at the Market!

Bird & Bat Houses by George

George Whittam makes quality, species specific bird, bat and butterfly houses. The bird and butterfly houses are made with solid, 3/4 inch cedar for long life. His workmanship is excellent. Everything is glued and screwed. No nails or staples. Birdhouses sizes range from wrens up to wood ducks. One of his favorite designs is for a Screech Owl and features an easy cleanout panel and built in perch.  All his houses make an excellent gift.

North Star Orchard
Here at the farm, it is the penultimate week of picking in the orchard. But unlike Lemony Snicket's "The Penultimate Peril", the only thing dreadful, unpleasant, and full of despair about the penultimate week of picking is the fact that the fruit season of 2014 is approaching an end.

Nicole, Paige, Oriyah, Jess, and Kelly picking Gold Rush this past Monday!
But, do not be terrified! We will have lots of delicious (not dreadful!) fruits to choose from this weekend, including: Gold Rush, Winecrisp, Golden Russet, and Reinette Simerenko apples and Hosui, Niitaka, and Olympic Asian pears.

We'll also have very lovely (not vile!) veggies including: leeks, garlic, cooking beans (3 or 4 kinds!), carrots, beets, and various green lovelies as well.

As things wind down at farm and market, keep going awhile with yummy (not treacherous) fruit and stave off the need to source ersatz "fruit" (herein meaning mushy, mealy, and otherwise flavorless horrors in the guise of deliciousness) from the grocery store!

Order a stash of Gold Rush Apples or varietal cider here

Order bulk bags of other apples and Asian pears here
