Overlooking the Oley Valley, Eckerton Hill Farm encompasses 58 acres of vegetables, herbs, berries, pastures and hay fields.  This year, the farm is working with Grace Galanti of Aurum Holistic Skincare to grow a variety of medicinal and culinary herbs that can, among other things, spice up your soup, improve your skin tone, help you to breathe easier and even raise your spirits during the waning hours of the day
Special Guest: Playgrounds for Palestine is a 503c non profit featuring fair trade certified organic olive oil from 2013 harvest in Birqin, Palestine. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this olive oil benefits the building of playgrounds in Palestine and neighboring countries that host Palestinian refugee camps. In partnership with Canaan Fair Trade we are featuring 500 ml bottles ($20) and 1 liter tins ($30) of Rumi olive oil and Nabali olive oil. Both are cold pressed and extra virgin. Hello Market Shoppers!

What a market we have for July 19th!  First of all, we will welcome back fruit farmer, Aaron Esch.  Aaron was among the 4 initial farmers at our market way back in 2002 when we were in the lot of Bridge & Main.  In case you're wondering, the other three are Charlestown Farm, Hoagland Farm and Kimberton Hills/Sweetwater Bakery.  Of course the market has grown since then and we are so so happy to have such wonderful farmers and artisan food producers.

This week you'll find summer fruits and veggies in abundance!! Peaches, plums, blueberries, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, sweetcorn- Yum!  If you want to learn how to freeze some of summer's goodness, stop by the stage at 9am where we will be demonstrating vacuum freezing.

We will have great music by Tamara Sheen and Sandy Pluto on stage starting at 10 am.

The third Saturday is the week when we pay particular attention to health. Special activities on Saturday are:

Free blood pressure screenings and information from Phoenixville Hospital

Vacuum Sealing/Freezing Demo on stage at 9am. This will be a hands-on demo where shoppers can learn how to vacuum seal fruits, vegetables, bread and even beans and grains for better storage.  We will have some give-aways and lots of coupons for discounts on freezing and canning supplies.  You can register for the demo here.

See you at the Market!
