Playgrounds for Palestine has just received our fair trade certified organic olive oil fresh from the 2013 harvest in Jenin, Palestine. The olive oil is pressed from the olives of 43 different farming families. Stop by and sample the tasty olive oil and see photos from Hanan's visit to Canaan's processing facility in Birqin Jenin.

Hello Market Shoppers!

 

We will have unseasonably warm weather on Saturday and the market will be full of great food.  The Sunflower Truck Stop will be BACK so you can grab an incredible sandwich to enjoy while you shop! and listen to Joe WIllson, who  will wow us with his finger style guitar on stage from 10 to 1.  

 

Thanksgiving is almost here and this is the LAST week to order a pasture raised turkey from Deep Roots Valley Farm.  Saint Peters' Bakery is taking special orders for pies, breads, and dinner rolls.   

 

You'll find fall fruits and veggies, delectable cheeses, pasture raised meats, matcha tea, adorable cupcakes and much more at the market on Saturday.


Joe WIllson will wow us with his finger style guitar on stage from 10 to 1.

this week's highlights

Artisan's Gallery & Café

While at the market, stop by for a sample taste of our cold weather "Veggie Chili".  Made with the finest ingredients it takes the chill out of the air!  Artisans' hot cider comes directly from North Star Orchard every Saturday morning.  Steamed just before the market opens, it makes a great fall accompaniment with our hot chocolate, which is made with milk and Ghirardelli chocolate.  Both come in children's 8 oz size or a larger 12 oz size.     

   

Baues Busy Bees

We have a nice assortment of holiday candles and candles for the Fall. Are you hosting Thanksgiving? or are you going to someones home? Lovely tapers for the table. Our 100% beeswax 10 inch tapers burn for over 8 hours, please stop and take a look.
Wildflower raw honey in glass or plastic your preference. We have 1 and 2 pound glass jars and 12 ounce bears, 1 and 2 1/2 plastic jars. Along with the raw honey we have bee pollen, a high protein food supplement and a natural way to treat pollen allergies. 

 

Thinking a head for gift giving our Beeswax creams, lotion and balms make a nice gift. How about a bar of Honey soap, very gentle on your skin.

Deep Roots Valley Farm

This is the last week to preorder a Thanksgiving turkey!  You can pick them up fresh at next weeks market.  They are $4/lb, we require a $25 deposit to hold your spot.

This week will probably be the last of our beef for several months, so be sure to stop by and stock up!

Last week we had 85 dozen eggs and they sold out in less then 1 hour.  If you want eggs be sure to see us early!

 

Ellen April Soap

We'll be bringing our soap and body products to the market for the last time this year, so be sure to stock up for the winter. Thanks to all our customers for a great market season.    

 

FreshaPeel Hummus!

Come try our chocolate cherry hummus! harvest pumpkin a fall favorite will also be there as well as spicy black bean, blazin buffalo, lemon kale, and original garlic is back! come sample them all!

 

Hoagland Farms  

We will have cole crops including Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, and romanescu. I will also have many peppers, onions, apples, and Asian pears. We will also have pork and honey.

What to Cook this Week?

Creamy Mushroom Fettuccine

1 lb Oley Valley Mushroom Mix
1  package Vera Pasta fresh pastafettuccine
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
3/4 teaspoon salt, divided
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup white wine
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
1/2 cup half-and-half
1 ounce Parmesan cheese, grated (about 1/4 cup)
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Preparation

1. Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat. Drain.

2. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil; swirl to coat. Add onion, mushrooms, garlic, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and pepper; sauté 10 minutes or until mushrooms are browned and have released their liquid. Add wine and thyme; cook 2 minutes or until liquid evaporates, stirring occasionally. Remove pan from heat. Add hot cooked pasta, remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, half-and-half, and Parmesan cheese to pan, tossing to combine. Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
