Hello Market Shoppers!

The market will be hopping this week- LITERALLY!  Cindy with rabbit Local farmers from Angel's Wool Farm,  Cindy and Woody Pierson will be at the market with their LIVE angora rabbit whose fur Cindy spins into lovely angora yarn as we host our 10th annual Fiber Festival.  Red Rope Farm and Little Lost Creek farms will bring woolen items from their sheep and alpacas and other local handspinners will be spinning and selling their handspun yarns.

Of course we will have the freshest local food, too.  If you have dull knives, this is the week that Neil's Sharpening Service will join us.

On stage we will feature a Kevin McConnell jazz trio including amazing vocalist Paul Jost.

See you at the Market!

Deep Roots Valley Farm

This weeks chickens look like they should dress out in the 3-4lb range.  If you want to take advantage of our bulk special (30lbs of whole chicken for $100, or 60lbs for $195) please send us an email ([email protected]).

We are out of most beef, but will bring along a few roasts and sirloin steaks.  We will be replenishing our freezers in the next couple of weeks.

The demand for our eggs has been incredible and we are very appreciative of how much you all love them.  Our eggs have been selling out by 11am every week, so be sure to come see us early!  As the days get shorter production will continue to decline.  We are getting 600 Barred Rock chicks next month and will have a much larger supply in the spring.  We wish we had more eggs to sell now, but farming doesn't work that way!

Don't forget to stop by and reserve your Thanksgiving turkey!

FreshaPeel Hummus!

John and Kira's

Try our NEW white tea with rose ganache & rum-pecan caramel Wildflowers. Hidden within the pink Wildflower is a delicate Valrhona milk chocolate ganache infused with white tea and touched with rose petals. The yellow Wildflower reveals a rich rum-pecan caramel. Both as decadent as they are wild!

Neil's Sharpening Service

Remember to bring knives, scissors, tools, ect!

North Star Orchard

Of course we'll have Hosui Asian pears, lots of assorted veggies (time for Romanesco!), plus apple and Asian pear cider.

This week's apple varieties will include that super fall-favorite, Sugar Snap: The name says it all...sweet-tart and crunchy! These are primarily for fresh eating. They are not-too-sweet and not-too-tart, have a great flavor and crunch, and they're quite juicy. We think they have the quintessential apple flavor and texture. Most everyone just loves these striped beauties! And now, for a bit of trivia: We named these Sugar Snap right away (it was love at first bite). They're known, in the orcharding world, sadly and simply as NY-74840-1. They were discarded from the NY apple breeding program as not being a suitable 'commercial' variety: the color is too variable, and they develop some russeting and sometimes cracking, none of which suits the wholesale market. But here at North Star, you know we have NO problem with any of those issues. We say bring on the FLAVOR!!

Plus, announcing the latest in must-have fall fashion:

PureBlend will be there with all 24 Signature Pureblend Teas!
Come smell the flavors of cool Fall evenings in our newest blends: Autumn Glow, Celtic Cream, Charming Chamomile and Vanilla Red Chai

If you're new to loose leaf tea, come by and let us explain the rich benefits and taste of loose vs. bagged tea.
