Hello Market Shoppers!

It looks like we will have beautiful weather for our Labor Day Weekend market on August 31st, but there are many other reasons to stop by the market on Saturday.  Here are just a few of them:

This may be the last weekend of the summer, but the market will be overflowing with great food all the way until December 28th.   We have many events planned for September- read about them in our Looking Ahead section at the end of the newsletter.

Artisan's Gallery & Caf�

 

Come see us on Saturday to celebrate the end of the summer!  You can shop while enjoying a freshly brewed cup of our Iced black or peach Harney Organic Tea (don't forget to add fresh mint) or Artisans blend Iced Coffee plus our organic lemonade which goes great with any assortment of baked goods extra-large scones, biscotti and cinnamon chips.   And check out our grab and go menu while you are at our stand.

We are happy to back at the market this week with freezers stocked with items for the grill. 

 

Black Walnut Winery

We are excited to be back at the market this week! Stop by our stand to taste a selection of our wines which are all produced from grapes grown in Pennsylvania.  We will be sampling and selling our 2009 Chardonnay, 2009 Merlot, Chambourcin, Iridescence (slightly sweet blush wine), and Bank Barn Red (slightly sweet bordeaux blend).  Our wines can also be purchased at our tasting room located at the corner of Bridge and Gay Streets.

Happy Labor Day Weekend! We're bringing you a special cheese this week...Applewood Smoked Birchrun Blue! House smoked at Talula's Table, this blue has a touch of a sweet smoky edge.  You can read Craig LaBan's gushing review of  it here

 

We'll also have a full cheeseboard including Honey & Sea Salt, Summer Herb & Garlic, Fat Cat, Red Cat, and Equinox.  We'll have excellent grilling meats for your Labor Day cookout.  We are currently out of our bockwurst and franks but will have them back next week.  

 

Country Time Farm

Next week (September 7th)  we will NOT be at the market because we will be traveling to Ohio to pick up some special heritage pigs.  Be sure to stock up for 2 weeks.

 

Cucina Verde is running a labor day sale on caraway kraut! $7 per pint.

Also in the mix on Saturday, Kurry Kraut, laco fermented plum chutney and lacto fermented fig chutney!

Labor Day Weekend Special:

Burger Patties $5.50/lb (4oz or 6oz available, normally $6/lb)

Turkey reservations have been coming in quickly.  If you would like to have one of our pasture raised turkeys for Thanksgiving stop by and make your $25 deposit this week!

We will have a 10% off sale on all pork items for Labor Day. We will also have plenty of white and yellow peaches,  tomatoes, summer squash, honey, red and yellow watermelons, cantaloupes and other fruits and vegetables

Looking Ahead 

Next Saturday, September 7th, is the first Saturday of the month and that means that WILD for Salmon will be at the market and Joe Willson will perform on stage!
