The Ascent :: Art from Ashes
Youth empowerment through creative expression, connection and transformation
Although it's unusual for me to feel this discouraged, recent events in the news have really taken a toll. You know...those ashes we refer to in our agency name. It's not that there isn't always bad news, it's just that there's been so much of it my heart can hardly take it. Perhaps you feel it, too.
More than ever, it's time to remind each other that as creators of our stories, we can honor another equally true story: that there is also good in the world, and we, as a community, stand for that truth.
"It's up to you," the cookie said, "to find the peace of mind you long for." --excerpt from Hunan Cookie by Stewart Warren

SATURDAY FREE YOUTH DROP-IN WORDSHOPS

Each Saturday from 1 to 3 pm, Art from Ashes holds free youth drop-in wordshops for any young person 12 to 24 years old at the McNichols building in Civic Center Park. Thank you to Denver Arts & Venues for the space! Any business or individual willing to support one month of wordshops for $1500, please contact us. BASEBALL, FIREWORKS, YOUTH & COMMUNITY
FRIDAY, SEPT 19
Join us for the final home game series of the season and support AfA and the youth we serve. We are selling 100 Rockies tickets for the Fan Appreciation Game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday, September 19th. We have guaranteed seats in Section 149--foul ball territory!--that also allow us to ENJOY FIREWORKS FROM THE FIELD. Purchase your tickets for the regular price of $39 and the Rockies donates some of that amount back to Art from Ashes!
Most of our young people have never attended a baseball game. Please consider purchasing a ticket for a young person, even if you can't make it. Click here for our Facebook event page.
