Greetings!
September was super at Baltimore REIA, and October looks outstanding.
In case you missed the big announcement at our last Main Event, we've created the NEW Baltimore REIA Mentoring Program.
Many investors have asked us to mentor them, including folks who spent $20k to $50k or more on education -- but still haven't done a deal.
It makes us sad -- and mad! -- when people spend a lot of money and can't even get started. So we've put together an affordable program that includes:
-- 6 core classes for a solid foundation: business basics, finding deals, rehabbing, buy-and-hold investing, funding, and tax strategies.
-- One-on-one mentoring by our own local experts.
-- Exclusive group conference calls and meetings for additional support.
The cost? A fraction of what you'd pay for education from people who may know real investing in general, but certainly don't know this area the way we do. Plus, you'll enjoy special savings if you sign up by October 31.
This program will be strictly limited to 20 participants, so each gets the personal attention he or she deserves. Watch your email for more details. Or, if you can't wait, contact us about it.
More big news: national speaker Shaun McCloskey is coming to our Main Event on October 16. Leaders from REIAs around the country have told us Shaun's "Lifeonaire" presentation is terrific. Be sure to catch Shaun's first-time-ever appearance at Baltimore REIA.
Check out the left column for more great monthly meetings in Baltimore City and County, plus Harford and Anne Arundel Counties. (Maybe we should change the name to Baltimore and Beyond REIA.)
See you soon,
-- Joe DiMaggio, Executive Director -- Bill Fell, President -- David Page, Marketing Director
P.S. Baltimore REIA members, want to make an easy $50? Bring a first-time guest to any meeting, and if your guest joins the REIA as an annual member, we'll give you $50.
P.P.S. Have any comments about our newsletter, meetings, classes, or anything else? We welcome your feedback.

Eat That Frog
By David Page, Marketing Director and Meal 'n' Deal moderator
|
Have you read Eat That Frog by productivity guru Brian Tracy? It's an excellent book about overcoming procrastination and getting things done.
The title comes from Mark Twain, who said that if the first thing you do each morning is eat a live frog, you can go through the rest of the day knowing that's probably the worst thing that will happen.
As Tracy explains it, your daily "frog" is your biggest, most important task, the one you are most likely to put off unless you do something about it today.
I recently ate three frogs that I wish I had eaten long ago. Read more...

What a Main Event we had in September! The Section 8 staff gave a great presentation to our packed house and provided a helpful handout. Get your copy here.
Many thanks to Nicholas Calace and his Section 8 staff for spending their evening with Baltimore REIA. Nick stayed for an hour after the meeting to answer questions and provide advice. Thanks also to the hundred-plus attendees who helped make Section 8's appearance so worthwhile. |

How to Partner With Your Own Self-Directed IRA
By John "Jack" F. Kiley, CPA, CISP, Managing Partner of MidAtlantic IRA, LLC, and moderator of our Strategies IRA meeting |
Partnering with your own Self-Directed IRA is just one strategy that I've seen more and more investors implement to try to help boost their retirement savings. Simply put, this strategy combines personal money with your retirement plan's money.
This tactic may allow you to expand your investment opportunities, because your pool of capital is larger from combining your available funds, earn a potential profit that is not currently taxed, and take advantage of an opportunity to convert your Traditional IRA to a Roth IRA. Read more... |
