Three cash scholarships of $500 each will be awarded for use toward continuing music therapy education credits. Classroom Technology Arts & Digital Literacy Grants Deadline: 6/26/15 The Texas Cultural Trust is pleased to announce its new Classroom Technology Grant for Arts & Digital Literacy courses! The Arts & Digital Literacy initiative is a project-based fine arts curriculum for high school students that bridges the gap between fine arts education and technology instruction, and establishes the connection between traditional arts education and digital media. The curriculum is designed to develop students' media literacy, providing integrated, relevant skills that will prepare them for the 21st century workplace. Apply for tablets or other technological equipment to implement Arts & Digital Literacy courses in your classroom. NEA Our Town Grant Deadline: Step 1 9/21/15 The Our Town grant program supports creative placemaking projects that help to transform communities into lively, beautiful, and resilient places with the arts at their core. Creative placemaking is when artists, arts organizations, and community development practitioners deliberately integrate arts and culture into community revitalization work - placing arts at the table with land-use, transportation, economic development, education, housing, infrastructure, and public safety strategies. This funding supports local efforts to enhance quality of life and opportunity for existing residents, increase creative activity, and create a distinct sense of place. Our Town offers support for projects in two areas: Arts Engagement, Cultural Planning, and Design Projects. These projects represent the distinct character and quality of their communities. These projects require a partnership between a nonprofit organization and a local government entity, with one of the partners being a cultural organization. Matching grants range from $25,000 to $200,000. Projects that Build Knowledge About Creative Placemaking. These projects are available to arts and design service organizations, and industry or university organizations that provide technical assistance to those doing place-based work. 2015 Zanesville Prize for Contemporary Ceramics Deadline: 7/15/15 The Muskingum County Community Foundation (MCCF), the Zanesville Museum of Art and the Artist Colony of Zanesville, with support from the Ohio Arts Council, are partnering with the Potters Council, the membership organization of ceramists worldwide, to present the Zanesville Prize for Contemporary Ceramics, the largest best of show prize in ceramics in the Western Hemisphere. The 2015 Zanesville Prize Best-of-Show award will be $20,000. The established budget for this project is $120,000. The locations for the sculptures are at the entrance to the Vista Grande Community Center on Madera Rd., and in the landscaped area in the parking lot outside of the Community Center. It is a multipurpose community center with a fitness center, gymnasium, theater, computer room, day care center and athletic fields. Built to serve students at nearby East Mountain High School the Fisher-Smith Gym at the community center was completed in 2009. Located in the picturesque East Mountains, Vista Grande literally means "grand view" and the Community Center lives up to its name. Located in downtown Omaha's historic Old Market, the 110,000 square foot facility offers 24-hour access to extensive installation and production spaces, and able to accommodate a broad range of artistic activity. This independently-driven atmosphere and communal environment encourages creative growth and experimentation to confront new challenges. Following a 10-day residency, each volunteers to lead a public outreach activity with visitors and to donate one piece of finished artwork to the program collection. For a two-year trial period beginning with this open call for residencies in 2016, the program will explore a preference for digital and performance-based donations rather than physical pieces for the program collection. Buzzfeed's Emerging Writers Fellowship Deadline: 10/1/15 Buzzfeed is offering a four-month program, starting January 2016, that will provide mentorship and experience to promising future writers. During this fellowship, writers will be involved in pitching, reporting, and writing while also participating in workshops and panel discussions with various editors in the industry. This fellowship hopes to help writers succeed as future freelancers and staff at media organizations. The work that is produced by the fellows will be published by Buzzfeed. The fellows will also receive a $12,000 stipend and will work with the senior editorial staff out of the New York office. |
