Website Changes
For some months now we have been rebuilding our website. We plan to switch to the new site later this month.
There will lots of exciting, wonderful and awesome updates and changes. The two of interest for this newsletter are: - How CZTs are listed
- Updating your CZT pages
1. How CZTs are listed
We list all CZTs on our website. However, not all CZTs give public classes. It is frustrating for potential students, and for non-public teaching CZTs to go back and forth in emails.
On our new website we will continue to list all CZTs, but each CZT will be able to indicate if she or he is available to teach public classes. When the CZT list will be first displayed on the day the website goes "live", all CZTs will be listed as not available for public classes.
(We will have an interim notice for visitors that happen to visit on that first few days.)
It will be up to each of you who are teaching, to log in and adjust your own profile.
This will correct the frustrating issue of prospective students not finding an active CZT.
2. Updating your CZT pages
Many of you have personalized your CZT pages on our website. We are sorry to say that there is no easy way to transfer those pages. You will have to re-create them.
However, to support that transition, we will make our current website available for two weeks under a "hidden" address once our new site is live. We'll keep our old website available for two weeks after the transfer for you to accomplish that transfer.
We suggest that you begin now to copy and save the pictures and text that is on your personal CZT pages on zentangle.com. Then, when the new site is live, you can just paste them back onto your pages.
In summary, here's the sequence for the upcoming upgrade: - You will receive another newsletter a day or two before we are about to make the transfer giving you a date of our transfer.
- On the day of the transfer, we will send an email to the email address in your zentangle.com profile. That email will contain your new CZT login and a temporary password for our new site.
- You can then log in and update your profile to include (if you wish) that you are available for giving classes and upload your CZT page info.
