December 24, 2013

Greetings!

At this season celebrated by giving of gifts, we are happy to announce the names of the 14 people who were randomly chosen to
receive an extra gift (or two) this year.

We also share how we lit our Christmas tree.

Enjoy!

Twelve Days of Christmas

We had fun with our Twelve Days of Christmas blog series. Thank you to all who commented. We read every one. Often we read them out loud to each other.

Originally, our plan was to give out a treasure box of Zentangle ATC tiles . . .

. . . but so many people commented (1,710 at last count) that we decided that wouldn't be enough. So, we're going to give out TWO treasure boxes full of Zentangle ATC tiles with all the tools to tangle them. Those will be given to two people randomly chosen from all who commented on the blog series. AND we're picking one person from each day to receive an assortment of gifts, too.

Thank you ALL so much for enjoying this fun and creative series with us and with everyone.

Our "Day" prize winners are:

Day 1:   AZ Angel
Day 2:   Think Outside the Box
Day 3:   Mosaic Magpie
Day 4:   Ginny ZZ
Day 5:   Jennifer Cottrell
Day 6:   Donna Cyr
Day 7:   Nancy Roth
Day 8:   Mary Pennington
Day 9:   Suzanne Johnson
Day 10: Cindy Blake
Day 11: Melissa Hayes
Day 12: Quwatha Valentine

And our two grand prize winners are:

Anna-Kate Chin

and

Donna Cyr

Congratulations to all!

For us to be able to send you your gifts we'll need your address. Please email your shipping address to

"zentangle [at] gmail [dot] com".

And if you haven't yet seen the series, begin at Day 1.

How We Lit Our Christmas Tree

In our 12th Day of Christmas blog entry we showed you our small Christmas tree that Maria tangled. Then we dimmed the lights and "turned it on."

Here are a few "tangled trees" that Maria created from Zentangle Zendala tiles:

And here's a view with their "lights" turned on:

The way this is done is by tangling with Sakura Gelly Roll Moonlight pens. Certain colors will fluoresce under a UV light.

For instance, UV flashlight off:

UV flashlight on:

This is a lot of fun to play with. We also discovered that you can use the white Gelly Roll pen to write "secret" messages on a white Zentangle tile.

Here's a look under regular light:

And here's that same tile lit with the UV flashlight:

In addition to the heart around the initials, you can now see:

Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
Seasons' Greetings
Happy Holidays

and two words which in our opinion apply to this and every season:
Passion & Gratitude

Thank you for enjoying 2013 with us.

With our best wishes to you and yours for a wonder-full 2014,

Rick and Maria
