He IS Always Watching Over Us!
Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry.
Have you ever wondered if God is REALLY watching over you when you are in the midst of a fiery trial of life? If we would be totally honest, I am certain that ALL of us have had that thought at one time or another. After all, we are human.
Today's scripture promises that God's eyes are on us and that He is listening to our cries. BUT how can we be assured that He is really there when we DESPERATELY need Him?
A few weeks ago one family was given this assurance in a tangible manner ... in a way that God's promise was not only VISIBLE to them but to everyone that they shared their experience with.
On the morning that the picture above was taken, a member of that family was being prepped for a serious surgery as the entire family and their friends were praying for a favorable outcome. As one of the friends walked in the hospital, she glanced at the sky and was stunned to see what appeared to be Jesus staring down at the hospital. Thankfully, for all of us, she captured this phenomenal image.
Now, can you imagine the comfort the family felt as their loved family member underwent surgery? Knowing that Jesus WAS watching over them ... Knowing that He WAS making His presence evident to them.
Although it would be so reassuring to have such a visual representation of God's presence in our lives, God's Word assures us that He IS always with us. Hebrews 13:5 promises that He will never desert us, He will never forsake us. Psalms 46:1 states that God is our refuge and strength ... ALWAYS ready to help us in our times of trouble. Psalms 121:8 tells us that God is watching over our coming and going ... now and forever.
My challenge to you today is to hold on to these scriptures in those times when you do not feel His presence and realize that He IS making a way where there seems to be NO way. Focus on Him no matter the circumstances ... AND just maybe He will make Himself so real to you that you will not only feel His arms wrapped around you BUT you will literally see His face!
Dear Lord, Thank You for always watching over my life. I am so grateful that You are constantly there to guide me, support me, and, most importantly, love me.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: How does knowing God is always watching over you able to provide strength in your time of distress?
