Day 2 of "His Word Does Not Return Void" Series

The God of His Word

Jeremiah 1:12 The Lord said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that My word is fulfilled."

Victory

We are planning on bringing our 4-year-old son to Disney World in November before we have baby #2.  However, we have decided that we are NOT telling him until we are there!

We made this decision partly because he would ask us when we are going every day but mostly because we don't want to promise something too far in advance... just in case something hinders us from our plans.

Thankfully, NOTHING can interrupt God's plans. He ALWAYS does what He says He will do and means what He says. Nothing will come between Him and the plans that He has for each of our lives. Today's verse says that He actually watches to see that His Word is fulfilled.

There are three truths about God's WORD found in Isaiah 55:11. "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Today, we're focusing on the truth that God's word does not return void.

In Daniel 10, we find the example of Daniel who prayed for understanding in a situation he was facing. He continued to pray for three weeks, and finally, an angel appeared to him with his answer. However, the angel told Daniel that his prayer was actually heard on the FIRST day that he prayed but that the "spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia" blocked the angel's way to deliver the message to Daniel.

The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12, "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places."

Often when we pray, we give up at the first sign of resistance or delay in our answer.

However, I challenge you today to push harder. Don't give up on the first "no," the first negative report, or when your situation seems impossible. God has heard your prayers, and His word will NOT return void. Learn from Daniel. Keep praying, keep pushing, keep believing. When doing so, there is a war that takes place in the spiritual realm. On the other side of your prayers and praise, there is a victory and an answer that you have been waiting on.

Dear Lord, Thank You that Your Word does not return void. I pray for and believe for a miraculous breakthrough in my situation!

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Have you given up on His promises or are you still pushing and believing in His Word?
