Just GO Already
Isaiah 33:15-16 He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.
I was recently sitting at a red traffic light. There was only one lane that had the all-important green light. However, no one was in that lane. For what seemed like an eternity, the other six lanes waited at this major intersection while NO ONE was taking advantage of their turn.
At that moment, the thought prompted in my mind, "How many people miss their opportunities in life because they are in the wrong lane, going the wrong direction when the opportunity to move forward is there screaming at them!
I find often that these same people will become angry with God or feel like God has abandoned them when He is not only there, He's saying, "Get in the right lane...your opportunity is waiting for you there!"
Too frequently, we feel like it's God who has turned His back on us when instead, our feeling of separation from God is a result of our own sinful or apathetic actions.
I challenge you today to evaluate your "lane." Are you in the lane of obedience? Are you moving forward? Or are you in a lane of compromise frustratingly sitting at a standstill in life.
God has so much hope and promise for each of us in this life. However, our ability to achieve that greatness is dependent upon our ability to wholeheartedly follow Him.
Dear Lord, Forgive me for times that I resented You rather than taking action for my own choices. Lead me and direct me in the "lane" that you desire for me to walk in.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Have I been living my life in the "lane" God desires for me to be in? |
