We Don't Need to Know Everything

1 Corinthians 13:12 All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

Gifts

Last weekend while wrapping a large gift for a baby shower, I thought, "Why do we wrap presents? Why can't we just present them in their original package?" My husband couldn't agree more - LOL!

However, receiving every good thing at once would totally ruin the excitement, and the recipient would not be able to truly appreciate each item.

I am sure many have had the same thoughts about life. "Why can't God just hand over all His blessings at once?" Some even desire to know all about their future...the date they will meet their potential spouse, the date they will go into labor for their first child ... Sure, that may be nice. We'd probably all have dressed up a little more had we known THAT was the day we were going to meet Mr. or Mrs. Right.

However, if we had COMPLETE knowledge of our futures, we'd also know the day we or our loved ones would leave this earth or the day of other tragic events in life. How could we really LIVE our lives if we knew every detail that would transpire?

We are God's children, and as any loving parents, He knows what we are ready for and when we are ready for it.

God has wonderful things in store for each of us, and He knows the perfect time to deliver His gifts...and many times, those gifts are WRAPPED. It may not be obvious at first, but in time, God will reveal His plan. So, don't disregard His plan because it wasn't wrapped as you expected!

For me personally, it felt like an eternity before we conceived our first child, but now that I look back, I realize God brought him to us at the PERFECT time in our lives.

I challenge you today to realize that it's okay to not know every detail and future occurrence of your life. Just know that God promises all of His children bright days ahead. In Jeremiah 29:11, He says, "For I know the plans I have for you...plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Dear Lord, I thank You that You have everything under control. I can LIVE my life because I know YOU hold my future!

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection:  Are you trusting in God to unfold the plans of your life according to His timing ... realizing that some events may need to be unwrapped one layer at a time?
