In All You Say ... In All You Do
2 Corinthians 5:20 So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!"
Part of my job is to conduct orientation sessions with new employees. In this meeting, I always remind our newly hired employees that they are now ambassadors of our organization - In All They Do ... In All They Say. I tell them that their actions (good or bad, positive or negative) will now impact how others view our school system.
Today's verse reminds us that we are ambassadors of Christ AND that He is making His appeal to others to come to Him THROUGH US! As I reflected on these words, I began to wonder if we truly comprehend the necessity of living a life that is reflective of Him ... if we are enticing others to seek a relationship with the God that we proclaim to be the King of our lives.
One definition of an ambassador is "a person who acts as a representative or promoter of a specified activity." What are we promoting in the way we are conducting our lives? Are we just talking the talk ... believing that we are impressing God with the Biblical words of wisdom that we are sharing with those who are hurting, those who are in need of a touch from Him? OR are we jumping into their situations ... acting as God's representative by meeting their critical needs?
Only by serving as His hands and His feet in our role as His ambassadors will we be able draw others to Him. My challenge to you today is to take time to reflect on your progress in fulfilling your Christ-given commission to be His representative in your family, in your workplace, in your community. Are you giving those you encounter on a daily basis a drink when they are thirsty, food when they are hungry, a hug when they are hurting??
Dear Lord, Help me to always be Your ambassador ... providing comfort to those who are seeking love and peace in their times of distress. My greatest desire is to have You one day tell me, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Are you living a life that is reflective of Him In All You Say, and most importantly, In All You Do?
