Do They See the Real You???
Romans 1:19-20 They know the truth about God because He has made it obvious to them.....Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Yesterday's devotion dealt with a skewed mirror which reflected false images. As I read this devotion, I realized that I truly loved the flawed mirror. I can remember giving myself a last look-over before leaving my daughter's house and departing feeling good about what was reflected before me --- even though, I knew it was not the truth.
Today's verse, on the other hand, clearly reveals that God's design in everything He created WAS and IS to reveal Himself TRUTHFULLY in order for us to get to know Him --- to recognize His image in everything we see --- everything we experience. The verse goes on to say that we have no excuse for not knowing God because He has made it extremely easy for us to do so.
I recently read something which opened my eyes to the enormity of God's plan for us to TRULY get to know Him. I will highlight just a few points. God's love of variety can be seen in the differences found in the individuals, colors, shapes, and scenery that surround us.... His power is evident in the eruption of a volcano, the mighty winds of a hurricane, the magnitude of an earthquake.... His organization is apparent in the seasons of the year, the intricacies of the human body, the delicacy of the ecosystem.... Finally the pages of the Bible document His love for us, His plans for our lives, His desire to spend eternity with His creation...
I once read that there are three questions to consider when determining the answer to Who Am I? "There is the person you think you are ... There is the person others think you are ...There is the person God knows you are and can be through Christ." My challenge to you today is to live your life reflective of who God knows you are!
Dear Lord, My prayer is for others to see You in me. Help me to portray Your image through my life in all of Your majesty. Let others walk away from me knowing a little more about You.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Are there any changes that you should make to live a life that is pleasing to Him ... a life that is not skewed by who you think you are OR by who others think you are?
