I JUST Love You!
1 John 4:19 We love because He first loved us.
I'm not typically a person who takes naps. When I attempt to do so, I spend the vast majority of my "nap" thinking about the productive things I should be doing. Then, when I finally fall asleep, my alarm goes off leaving me crankier than before.
However, I recently decided that as a pregnant person, a nap is productive for the health of my growing baby. So, last week, my toddler and I surrendered and got some rest. Usually, after he wakes from a nap, he runs into the living room where I am working.
This time, since I was next to him, he remained in bed smiling at me as I slept. I don't know how long he was gazing at me, but when I woke up I was definitely taken aback by my bright-eyed, smiley son. A little shocked, I asked him, "Baby, why are you smiling?" In the sweetest tone, he responded, "I JUST love you!"
Those four words made me feel SO very special. They made me feel like a good mom, like I was doing a good job, and like he really, really loves me.
He could have awakened and then disturbed my nap by asking me to go play with him. Instead, he just remained in bed and gazed at me. Although I am his mom and I am the adult, I still NEED to hear those words spoken like he means it.
God also desires to hear those simple, sincere words from us.
I challenge you today to always take a moment to rest in Him. Instead of jumping from task to task, be sure to gaze upon His wonder and say, "Dad, I JUST love You!" He's done so much for you...even in your darkest hour, His love shines.
Dear Lord, I just love You! You have been so good to me...such a loving, perfect Father!
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Do I let God know daily how much I love Him?
