Got Time?

Every Christmas my son, Gabriel, and I filter through his toys to determine which ones will be donated to make room for his upcoming gifts. He was always willing to give SOME of his toys away, BUT he had a tendency to cling to toys that he didn't even play with on a regular basis. After all, these toys were HIS!

In recent years, however, I've noticed a change.  Ever since we began to donate to Operation Christmas Child, he has become MORE generous ... he realizes that less fortunate children will be receiving his neglected possessions. God has filled his little heart with a desire to give to those who have not been as blessed as he has been ... those who are in need.

Now - even if it's just parting with toys, I do believe that God will reward my young son for his sacrifice. Although at times there were things he truly DIDN'T want to part with, he knew deep down that he was doing something that was pleasing to God. He understood how blessed he was which in turn caused ME to feel blessed!

For many of us, there is something we consider much more valuable than our material things ... OUR TIME! Sadly, we are often unwilling OR unable due to our "busyness" to sacrifice EVEN a tiny bit of our time. Over the years, I have witnessed how a small amount of time donated to help someone has impacted the recipient for a LIFETIME! I am certain that is the reason why time is described as VALUABLE and PRECIOUS!

Just as my son has been willing to bless others with the toys that he inwardly desired to hold on to, I challenge you to give of your VALUABLE time to those who will appreciate your PRECIOUS gift. By doing so, you will actually be making room for His blessings in your life. Always know that God is in the business of multiplication ... Be obedient and He will NEVER fail you!

Dear Lord, Please make me aware of when I am being selfish with my time.  I know that You were so pleased with Your Son's sacrifice --- a sacrifice so PRECIOUS and VALUABLE that lives are still being immensely changed by it! In the same way, allow me to be a "difference maker" through the sacrifice of my time.

Thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me.  I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Are you willing to sacrifice a little of your time to touch someone's life ... possibly making an eternal impact?
