Are You THERE?

 

Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

 

 

With the wide use of technology, we now expect an immediate response no matter where we are. Through text messaging, we can even remain in contact with others during important meetings and in loud places where telephone use would have previously been impossible.

 

I believe the technological advances have assisted us in remaining in closer contact with each other, BUT, unfortunately, it has hindered our communication efforts with God. We now expect an immediate answer when we call on God.....AND we become frustrated when we don't hear from Him IMMEDIATELY!

 

Today's Scripture points out the TWO things that we need to do for successful communication with God. We must CALL upon Him and then go and PRAY to Him. If we do these TWO things, He promises to listen to us.

 

My challenge to you is to avoid approaching God with the "text messaging mentality." Always realize that He IS available and able to respond to our prayers, BUT that the response will be in His timing -----  not OUR timing!!!

 

Dear Lord, Grant me the patience needed to wait upon You for an answer after I bring my requests to You in prayer.  Help me to realize that You know the Big Picture of my life and that Your timing is based upon what is best for me.  

 

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

 

Reflection: Are you bringing your requests to God in prayer and then trusting Him to answer them at JUST the right time?
