Simple as That

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes, shall not perish but have eternal life."

A while ago I was looking into registering my business name and going through the steps to become the legal owner of my one person cake operation. After going to multiple sites, following link after link, I was completely overwhelmed and confused.

I decided to seek advice from my friend who had dabbled in photography ... hoping she could shed some light on my confusion. Her response:  she looked into it once, got overwhelmed and gave up.  I was in exactly the same boat!

Becoming a business owner was filled with steps I couldn't put in order and words I didn't understand.  I thought about how people must feel when approaching God for the first time. What am I supposed to do? What steps do I take? What if I don't know all the words or understand what's going on? I was instantly thankful for just how SIMPLE God has made this for us!

"For God so loved the world..." Are you in the world? THEN HE LOVES YOU! Simple as that! If you are human, you are created by and loved by God! Not only does He love you but He made the most difficult sacrifice I can imagine, He GAVE HIS SON, to carry our sin, our shame, to DIE for us.

That WHOsoever, that's you, that's me, that's ANYONE who believes, shall not perish, but have ETERNAL life!  Just that one verse outlines what we are to do, acknowledge His love and sacrifice and accept Him for what He's done for us!

Now, there is much more to learn on our journey through life as a follower of Christ but again, God's given us all the answers in His Word. Encouragement when we are down, clarity when we are confused, forgiveness when we ask for it, and, most importantly, the hope we find in knowing we will spend eternity with Him.

I challenge you to take a step back and realize how simple it is to go to our Father.

Thank you Father for loving me enough to send Your son to die for me. I believe that He is Lord and that You raised Him from the dead so I may have eternal life.

Reflection: Have you made starting a real relationship with God out to be more complicated than it is?
