Mom, Mom, Mom....!!!!

It's officially summer, and I recently went on my first solo outing of the season with my boys (ages 20 months and 5 years). I may need the rest of the summer to recover from the few errands that I had to run that day. Saying my 5 year old likes to talk is an understatement. "Mom, what's that?" "Mom, why is this right here?" "Mom, can I have this?" "PLEEEEEAAASE Mom can I have this!?" "Can we go...?" "Can we do...?"

His comments, concerns, and questions seem like an endless waterfall coming from his mouth. He never thinks that maybe I don't want to hear what he has to say. After all, I am his mom, and I hold the answers to his questions and have the ability to meet his little five year old needs.

Thankfully, God is INFINITELY more patient than I am, AND He is always there for us in the same way. Just like my little boy comes to me with no reservations, we should go to God in the same manner. No fear, no hesitation. He is our perfect Daddy and will listen to EVERYTHING we have to say.

Do you think my little boy worries if I'm going to feed him lunch, or that I don't know where to bring him for a birthday party he wants to attend? Absolutely not!

If he can have that confidence in me, an incredibly flawed human, how much more confidence should we have in our heavenly Father to take care of our every need? I challenge you to start talking to God today about things you may have felt were too insignificant before.

Dear Lord, Thank You for always being there when I need You. Help me to go to You with confidence for everything ... my thoughts, my desires, my needs. I understand that You love me and want to hear from me no matter what it may be about.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Is there anything you are hesitant to speak to God about?
