Let Go ... Let God!

Psalm 55:22   "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken."

 Letting Go

I have recently experienced two incidents that have truly reinforced God's sovereign ability to care for us. In the first situation, a lost item caused much concern for someone close to me. My advice to her was to give the situation to God and to rest in His capable hands. Miraculously, the lost item was found the very next morning.

The second situation occurred when someone dear to me needed to find favor in a situation in order to proceed with something that she knew was God-ordained. Upon explaining her situation to the person in charge, she was incredibly granted the favor that she so desperately required.

In both cases, these two individuals had a choice. They could have cast their cares on the Lord as today's scripture states, OR they could have allowed worry to consume them. I can report with all confidence that they chose to give their circumstances to the Lord. Since these situations were very serious, their choice was to let go and let God.

Now, I am certain that the fiery darts of doubt and worry tried to take residence in their minds. In fact, I know this occurs in our lives on a regular basis. However, since God cares so much for us, He provides a way for us to be immune to these attacks.

He commands us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 "to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." By doing so, we speak life in the situation and refuse to allow our faith to be shaken. The end result of this type of behavior as stated in Philippians 4:7 is that you "will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand."

I challenge you today to allow God's love and wisdom to assume control of the situations that come against you. Realize that God knows what you are going through, and He is able to handle your situation. His greatest desire is for you to trust Him enough to just hand it over to Him with the knowledge that He WILL work it all out for your good!

Dear Lord, I desire to feel Your strength, power, and presence at work within my life. I know that You are always watching over me, protecting me, and resolving my situations in the manner that You see fit. I ask that You help me to trust in you completely "no matter what."

I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection:  Are you letting go of the situations that are threatening to steal your joy and letting God work them out for your good?
