A Little More "Baking"
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Yesterday, we were able to hear our new baby's heartbeat for the first time! We brought our 3-year-old with us, but he was extremely disappointed that we couldn't take the baby home. The baby is currently the size of a raspberry and just lost its tadpole like tail. I'm thinking we have a little more "baby baking" left...
I tried to explain to him that we'd be able to take the baby home shortly after Christmas, but that just seemed SO FAR away.
What my son doesn't understand is that the baby needs time to grow and develop. Otherwise, he/she will not be able to survive once entering this world.
Nonetheless, that did not seem to pacify his sweet, little mind.
Let's just be honest. The journey between our promise and the manifestation of that promise often seems like an eternity. However, how we respond in the waiting or "baking" period will determine the health of that promise once it is manifested.
Too often, we grow weary in waiting and "force" something to happen resulting in great disappointment when our promises are not everything we imagined.
I challenge you to rest in the understanding that God is working it out. Be faithful to the process. Know that there is great purpose and preparation in the process. Don't exchange God's perfect plan for you for something that will just "pacify" your current state.
Dear Lord, Help me to have peace in Your perfect plan for me!
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Have I been forcing something to happen rather than waiting patiently on God's perfect plan?
