Meeting Baby GRACE
Mark 11:24 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
Having had three children, I can attest to how long nine months can seem ESPECIALLY during the last few weeks! It seems as if the baby will never be born.
Imagine what it would be like to wait for a baby for SEVEN years! Yes, you did read that correctly--SEVEN years of PATIENTLY waiting and praying for your baby to arrive. Would your faith waver? Would you lose heart and just give up on bringing your baby home to the nursery that has been furnished and decorated years ago? OR would you continue waiting with joyful anticipation of what the Lord WILL DO in your life???
Today's scripture tells us that we are to ask for the thing that we want and then to BELIEVE that we will receive it. I personally know of two individuals who have lived and breathed this scripture for the last seven years. In November of 2006, their paperwork was submitted to adopt a beautiful baby girl from China. Instead of giving up on their dream after all this time, they are still waiting with complete trust and BELIEF in what they know God will do for them.
Along with a fully equipped nursery, this couple also has a name selected for their little girl--Grace. The name Grace means "pleasing quality," "favor," or "thanks."
I am convinced that God is well pleased with their faithfulness and certain that He has the perfect baby selected for them. When will they receive their Baby Grace? We may not know BUT God knows.
Galatians 4:4 tells us that "when the right time came, God sent His Son...". In the same way that He sent Jesus at the right time, I believe that He will send Baby Grace at the PERFECT time.
I challenge you today to hold fast to those things that you have prayed for BUT have not yet received. Always realize that God IS working all things out for the good for those who love Him! Therefore, do not give up--continue to BELIEVE for God's GRACE in YOUR situation!
Dear Lord, Thank You that You have not forgotten those things I have prayed for and anxiously waiting on. I KNOW that You are working everything out, and I put ALL my trust in You!
I thank You Jesus for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
UPDATE: I wrote today's devotion last year. At that time, the couple that I referenced above did not know when they would travel across the world to meet their baby Grace. They just knew with all certainty that God would make a way for them to do so. With much gratitude to God, I would like to report that they ARE currently in China. I believe that God blessed these individuals for their faithfulness by orchestrating everything for them to be in China on Mother's Day ... such a fitting time for them to meet their beautiful baby girl.
Reflection: Are you holding fast to your belief that God can answer your prayer?
