The Light in Our Darkness

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified...for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Sadly, we will all face situations in our lives that threaten to consume us. During these times, our faith in God's constant presence in our lives is the only thing that can sustain us.

Although it IS comforting to know that God is with us at all times, we would have to admit - in all honesty - that it is somewhat difficult to praise God when we are going through life's challenges. We WANT to praise Him, but our immediate attention is drawn to the situation that we find ourselves in ... the overwhelming pain that we are experiencing.

Since God understands that our natural reaction to our desperate circumstances is fear of the unknown ... fear of being all alone in our adversities, His promise to never forsake us in today's scripture is truly the LIGHT IN OUR DARKNESS - the beacon of hope for our troubled hearts.

My challenge to you is to make the choice today to be courageous and strong when bombarded by arrows of despair that threaten to pierce your heart. In these times, restore your courage and strength by TRUSTING and BELIEVING that He will make a way when there seems to be no way.

Dear Lord, Thank You for your promise to stand besides me at ALL times - when things are good as well as when my world has been turned upside down. Strengthen me ... build my courage ... increase my faith. Shine Your light brightly in my life so that I can see You in my darkness.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Are you being guided by His light to bring you out of your darkness?

****If you are facing a difficult situation at this time - one in which you feel that you are all alone, I encourage you to go to the site below to listen to Never Alone by Matt Redman. I know that you will be blessed.
