Reflecting Him

2 Corinthians 3:18  ... And the Lord-who is the Spirit-makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.

Have you ever detected a strong physical resemblance between a husband and wife who have been married for many years? Interestingly, not only do they look alike  ... BUT they generally have the ability to finish off each other's sentences!

How does this occur? The answer lies in the amount of time that they spend together. After years of sharing their lives, these husbands and wives become so well-acquainted with each other that they actually take on their spouse's attributes ... they change little by little until they are truly reflective of each other.

Today's scripture points to the transformation that is available to us through our willingness to take on The Lord's image ... to reflect His glory.

Just as long-married couples can begin to resemble each other in speech and appearance, we can become mirrors of The Lord's character to others by spending time with Him. I once read that we should strive to be "walking, living advertisements for Christ!"

My challenge to you is to establish a certain time each day to spend with God ... to focus on getting to know Him intimately through His Word and prayer. Allow His Spirit to fill you ... to transform you into His likeness.

Dear Lord, My desire is to reflect You in all I do ... in every word I speak. Allow the change in me to be the catalyst to change others.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: How are others judging Christianity based on my reflection of You?
