It's Your Choice

Luke 23:42-43  Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into Your kingdom. " Jesus answered him, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in paradise.

Although I have a tendency to spoil my grandchildren, I realize that they do need to be disciplined at times for their poor choices. Recently, my grandson was having a difficult time at an event at his home, and his father dealt with it in an effective manner.

Holding up his hands, my son-in-law offered two options for my grandson to decide upon.  One choice was to go back outside to play with his friends, and the other one was to go to his room to take a nap. My grandson wisely chose the hand reflective of going back outside to play. As I watched his father give him a high-five for making the right choice, I was also extremely proud of him.

Our Heavenly Father offers the option of choice to us as well ... choices that have eternal consequences. Today's scripture describes the choice made by one of the thieves hanging next to Jesus at Cavalry. This thief made the wise choice ... one which resulted in spending his eternity with Jesus.

My challenge to you today is to realize that it is NEVER too late to make the right choice. Imagine for a second being sentenced to DIE for crimes that you DID commit and then to be given the opportunity to receive the gift of ETERNAL LIFE as you are breathing your last breaths. Always know that this gift is available to you as well.  All you have to do is to simply give your heart to Jesus ... putting the past behind you and looking forward to a future with Him.

Dear Lord, Thank You for loving me enough to die for my sins in order to save me.  Help me to always realize that You are waiting for me to come to You with open arms NO MATTER what I have done.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Have you made the eternal choice to live for Him?
