**While scheduling today's message last night, I accidentally sent it out early. Sorry for the multiple emails, but I thought that I better send it out again at the normal time.
Small Steps to Wellness
John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, He asked him, "Do you want to get well?"
I was extremely proud to read that an individual who is a member of the Fitness small group that I have joined through my Church improved her former 5k time by 6 1/2 minutes! What an accomplishment! Starting out slow and being consistent was her encouragement to the rest of our group.
As I read her post, I began to reflect on my progress. When the group was first formed, I did start off extremely motivated. However, I am now wavering. I fluctuate between purposing to include more exercise in my life to taking the elevator to my SECOND floor office. What happened to the strong desire that I had a couple of years ago when I did successfully lose weight?
In today's scripture, Jesus asks a man who had been sick for 38 years if he wanted to get well. If you are in a situation where a change must be made in order for you to live a life free from the illness, habit, addiction, or situation that is holding you back, my challenge to you today is to answer Jesus' question: "Do you want to get well?" Remember the small steps that we need to make are taken DAILY. One good choice after another will lead to a life of wellness!
Dear Lord, Help me to identify the things that are holding me back from becoming the person that You desire for me to be. Strengthen me to make those wise daily choices that will result in positive outcomes.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Are you willing to make the daily decisions that will lead to a life of wellness?
