Cell Phone Prayers

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Two days ago, a friend of mine posted the funniest and sweetest photo of her baby boy. It was so adorable that I made it my cell phone homescreen. Every time I open my phone, that contagious smile ignites a huge smile on my face!

God laid it upon my heart to pray for that sweet baby's family every time I access my phone. If you're anything like me, you'll understand that I prayed A LOT yesterday. I didn't realize how many times I opened my phone each day until I had that screensaver.

Today's verse encourages us to pray all the time...to never stop! Let's just be realistic. It would be impossible to work, to sleep, to do everything we have to do in a day, if we stayed home praying ALL day.

However, I believe this verse is challenging us to seize EVERY opportunity to pray and to be in connection with God. Sure, you should set aside time to really separate yourself and communicate with God ... but not all of your conversations with Him have to be long.

I talk to those I love several times throughout the day. Sometimes, it is just to say, "Hey, I just wanted you to know that I am on my way home. I love you." Other times, it's an in-depth, heart-felt conversation over dinner.

I challenge you today to constantly be in an attitude of prayer. Talk to Him throughout the day. Maybe you need to do something to remind yourself to pray for someone or for a particular situation. You could make that person or need your homescreen on a device you use MULTIPLE times a day. By making a conscious effort to talk to Him more each day, your relationship with Him will grow exponentially!

Dear Lord, Thank You that You are always there when I call out to You!

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
