Just ONE More

Luke 6:38 ...The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.

This week, I had the privilege of hearing Tommy Barnett preach in person!

Pastor Barnett began with a church in Los Angeles averaging 48 people on a Sunday morning but has grown to reaching more than 50,000 per month!

He and his son are best known for launching the Los Angeles Dream Center. The Dream Center rescues and rehabilitates people from addictions, homelessness, and abuse, including victims of human trafficking. They reach out to gang members, unwed mothers, and emancipated youth, as well as feeding the hungry and needy. They give people hope and an opportunity to "Dream Again."

Pastor Barnett, a minister in his late 70s, shared in his message that he recently had an amazing offer. A wealthy man from England approached him after watching the movie "The Bucket List." Inspired by the wealthy character in the movie paying to accomplish his newfound friend's bucket list, this English man wanted to do the same thing for Pastor Barnett.

He told Pastor Barnett to come up with his bucket list...with his adventure of a lifetime....AND that he would fund whatever was on that list!

Pastor Barnett said he thought for days about what he wanted to experience... he thought about all this world had to offer.

However, he came to the conclusion that all he really wanted to do was feed one more hungry belly, get one more person off of drugs, help one more woman be freed from human trafficking....

I challenge you today to consider what REALLY matters. Are the things that you are seeking and the things that you are investing your time in REALLY that important... jumping out of a plane can never compare to helping change the course of someone's life.

Dear Lord, Open my eyes to opportunities to make a difference that are always around me.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
