GIVE ... No Matter What
Luke 6:38 Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full - pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
My husband and I were out of town last night due to a work obligation. As we were leaving the restaurant after a nice dinner, the waitress hurried and opened the door for us. She smiled and stated that she hoped we would return.
When we were driving off, I joked with my husband that we had received such a warm good-bye because of the generous tip that he had left for this waitress - lol.
I wondered if she would have acted in the same way if we had left a meager tip. What about us? What kind of tip would we have left if the service would have been unsatisfactory?
Today's scripture instructs us to GIVE. Note that it does not state that we only have to give if we receive. Rather, this scripture states that the amount we receive in the future depends on what we give in the present.
My challenge to you today is to realize that your blessing is fully dependent on your attitude of giving. Since God is searching for cheerful givers, don't allow anything to take away your joy ... GIVE No Matter What!
Dear Lord, Help me to always give to others all that You desire me to give. Allow me to be a blessing even when it is hard to do so!
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Are you allowing external factors to limit your giving? Have you considered what God is trying to do in you and through you in your giving?
