It's Not Always a Bad Thing to MISS THE BOAT

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

I am currently attending a Pastor's Conference with my husband.  At this Conference yesterday, I heard a tremendous story from one of the speakers. He said that the Titanic changed his life! I sat back wondering how could the Titanic have changed this approximately 30 year-old man's life.

He explained that his wife's great-grandparents were scheduled to be on the Titanic. However, they arrived at the dock just a little too late. As they watched the Titanic sail away, they experienced feelings of great frustration...sadness...disillusionment. Their dreams of sailing on the great Titanic were CRUSHED!

The speaker made the assumption that this disappointed couple must have argued...possibly even blamed each other for missing the boat that day. Surely, while watching the boat sail away, they could not find one positive reason why that had happened to them!

Days later ... upon finding out the devastating news of the sunken ship, they rejoiced in their failed dream. They thanked God for missing out on what they THOUGHT was the opportunity of a lifetime.

Still, how does this story significantly impact the speaker? Well, he shared that his wife may not be here today ... if his wife's great-grandparents would have boarded the Titanic.

I challenge you today to seek God for the purpose of your circumstances and rest in Him no matter what. Know that His hand of protection is on you...and your choices and trials in life have the power to influence the lives of your generations to come!

Dear Lord, Give me peace and wisdom to trust You in ALL things. Show me how to appreciate the situation I am experiencing at this time.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Am I trusting God in my current situation?
