Spring Forth
Song of Songs 2:11-12 Look, the winter is past, and the rains are over and gone. The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds has come...
Today is the first day of Spring, and I know that I HAVE anxiously awaited its arrival. In fact, I believe that this past winter was one of the most unpredictable that I can ever recall!
Today's scripture paints a beautiful picture of the changes that are associated with springtime ... warm weather, clear skies, blooming flowers, birds singing. This most welcomed season symbolizes rebirth, renewal, and regrowth ... a time when new plant growth "springs forth."
Just as there are seasons in nature, there are seasons in life as well. Since God knew that we would unfortunately face wet, cold, intense winters, He provided the following encouragement for us in Ecclesiastes 3:1 - "To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven." God wanted us to know that no matter how bad our current season is ... there IS a purpose for what we are going through.
My challenge to you is to understand that if we remain hopeful ... if we do not give up ... we can fulfill God's purpose for that particular season of our life. Always remember that "without winter there would be no spring!"
Dear Lord, Thank You for remaining faithful to me in the various seasons of my life. Help me to always recognize Your purpose in all that I face.
I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Can you identify which season you are in? Are you trusting God to help you to SPRING FORTH into God's perfect will for your life? |
