He IS All-Knowing

Isaiah 43:1-2  Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

When my four-year old granddaughter excitedly shared with my three-year old grandson that she was going to her classmate's birthday party, my grandson proclaimed that he was also going to the party.  Sadly for him, she immediately informed him that he couldn't go because the birthday girl did not even know his name!

As I was reflecting on my grandson's desire to be invited to a party for someone who does not know him, I was comforted in the assurance of today's scripture ... God knows our name!  With a world population of over seven billion, God's knowledge of my name is truly an overwhelming thought.

For the last few days, we have touched on several of the names for God in the Bible. In my opinion, one of the most important names for God mentioned in the Bible is All-Knowing.  Our All-Knowing God not only has knowledge of our name, He also knows the number of hairs on our head, our struggles, our limitations, and what our future holds.

My challenge to you is to always call on God using one of His powerful names ... the All-Knowing, the King, the Most High, the All-Sufficient One, the Provider, the Healer, the Creator, the Shepherd, the God of Peace...  Take complete joy in knowing that the God ABOVE all other names knows YOUR name!

Dear Lord, I thank You Father for knowing my name and for the assurance of knowing that I am Yours and You are Mine.  Help me to always know and love You more.

I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Do you truly understand what it means to have God know your name ... to understand that He is extending an invitation for His eternal celebration?

I would like to take the opportunity to wish my beautiful daughter and co-author of the Constant Friend Devotion a very Happy Birthday!
