How Is Your Vision?
Mark 8:25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
In Mark 8, a blind man is brought to Jesus. Jesus prayed for him, and then asked him if he could see. The man replied that he could see, but not clearly. He still had a distorted view. So, Jesus prayed for him again, and when he did, the man was completely healed with his eyesight restored 100%.
Gwen (the Constant Friend founder and author) and I have the privilege of sharing our precious 3 1/2 yr old grandson, Maddox. He is a typical boy - full of life and energy, and he loves to play rough with his dad and grandfathers. However, he also has the sweetest, most compassionate heart.
Recently, I was attempting to read a menu at a restaurant with Maddox, and I squinted because I did not have my "reader glasses" on. Maddox looked up at me and said very caring, "Sugar, I wish you could see better". His concern really stirred my heart, and also reminded me of the love of God.
Because life brings so many burdens and distractions our way, it is easy for us to become overwhelmed and therefore, to have a distorted view of life - and sometimes a distorted view of God, and His ability to turn our situations around.
It is in those moments that God says to us, "I wish you could see better". God has a tremendous destiny for each of us. We just need to allow Him to help us with our focus. We can never stop praying if we don't see results, after just one prayer.
I challenge you today to keep praying, believing and trusting God until you "see" your situation turn around.
Dear Lord, Restore my vision, and help me to always see your will for my life clearly!
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Are there distractions in my life that I need to remove or reevaluate so that I can see God's purpose clearer?
