He IS Our Provider

Genesis 22:14  Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh which means "The Lord will provide."

For many years, I have been jokingly accused by my daughters and husband of loving my son more than I love them.  In fact, they even in JEST presented the following scenario to me: If my husband, two daughters, and son would be in danger of drowning and I had the means to save ONE person, who would I save???

Thankfully, I was never placed in a situation in which I had to make that awful decision.  Although I was spared this terrible ordeal, Abraham was not.  When God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son ... the son that he and his wife had longed for ... the son God had promised them, he obeyed His request --- believing that God would provide a way out.

Can you imagine the faith that it took for a loving father to go through the motions of God's request ... seeing the fear and confusion in his son's eyes ... wondering how God was going to resolve this situation???

My challenge to you this morning is to always believe as Abraham did that our God will provide a resolution to our situation.  He knows the plans that He has for our lives, and He will PROVIDE all that we need to fulfill these plans.  We just need to believe that God will indeed DO as He has promised.

Dear Lord, I thank You for Your promise to provide all that I will ever need.  Help me to always trust in Your faithfulness, Your love, and Your provision.

I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Is there an area in your life that you need to trust God more?
