He is THE Way

John 14:16 Jesus answered, "I am THE WAY and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Once when driving home from New Orleans to my small community of Gheens, my friend and I took the wrong exit! At the time, we were only in high school and had very little driving experience. Rather than heading home, we were headed to Baton Rouge.

We assumed that taking the first exit we approached would allow us to turn around. Instead, we merged onto another interstate and had to drive 10 more miles before approaching an exit that helped us get back on track.

We were frightened and frustrated! Every mile in the wrong direction represented another mile added to our journey home once we found "the way."

Have you ever felt like that in life? You know you've gotten off track, and you just can't seem to find a way back? In addition, every step in the "wrong direction" adds more stress...making you feel that even when you "get it right," it will still be near impossible to reach your goal because of so much lost time?

Today's verse reveals that Jesus is "the way." This week, as we study the names of God, know that HE is ALWAYS the way. No matter what you are going through, fix your eyes on Him. He has the power to turn you in the right direction and to even make up for lost time.

With Him, nothing is impossible. No one is too far gone, and it's never too late!

Dear Lord, help me to always be on the right path, in the right direction! Thank You that Your arms are never too short to save me from my current situation.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Are there areas of my life that I have neglected because I have felt that I was too far gone?
