Stop Waiting - Stop Worrying

Matthew 6:34  So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.

After reading the online post below, I immediately thought of an acquaintance of mine who has never in my opinion truly enjoyed her todays. Instead, she remains focused on what she believes is needed to make her life better rather than taking the time to appreciate what she already has.

Stop waiting for Friday, for summer,

for someone to fall in love with you for life.

Happiness is achieved

when you stop waiting for it

and make the most

of the moment you are in now!

Today's verse contains a similar message. Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow - to concentrate on what is going on in our lives today. I once read that God's plan is for us to navigate through each day with the grace that He provides to do so.

My challenge for you today is to SLOW DOWN and cherish each and every moment of all of your glorious todays. Don't allow yourself to become consumed with thoughts and worries of your tomorrows. I believe that we serve a God who understands our weaknesses and is merciful enough to only give us what we can handle ...  on a day-by-day basis!

Dear Lord, I thank you for equipping me to get through each 24 hour period. Please always help me to realize that my future is secure in Your powerful and capable hands.

I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Are you missing out on the happiness that God has planned for your todays because of being too consumed with waiting on and worrying about something that MAY OR MAY NOT ever come to be?
