James 1:3-4 .... when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
For someone who has never had a broken bone, required therapy, or needed assistance with basic life skills such as dressing one's self, this fractured arm experience has been difficult to say the least. Since I was told that my full commitment to therapy is necessary to my complete recovery, I know in my head that I can't give up. However, what about the associated pain...?!?!
Today's verses assure us that through our troubles, through our pain our endurance will be fully developed. Then and only then, will we be perfect and complete. We will need nothing BECAUSE if we endure .... He will provide ALL that we need all the days of our lives.
My challenge to you today is to stand strong when your faith is being tested ... when you face insurmountable obstacles in your life. Know that God longs for you to be transformed into a mature Christian through these experiences. Realize that our Christian growth depends upon the manner in which we handle our difficult situations.
Dear Lord, Help me to recognize Your purpose in the plans that You have for my life. I thank You for Your provision of strength to develop in me a Christ-like character.
I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Is there a situation in your life that God is using as a training ground for your growth process? Are you growing?
